Proud Member of TherapyDen

Welcome! And thank you for visiting. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, which means that I have completed a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) and additional training focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions and disorders. I provide in-person and online psychotherapy to adults who have experienced stress and loss in their lives and are having difficulty coping.

Through my training and over 30 years of experience I have developed several specializations:

  • HEALTH PSYCHOLOGY—assisting people who are struggling with long-term health problems or a chronic illness, whose quality of life is poor but who want to live a meaningful life despite their illness;

  • ANXIETY & DEPRESSION—working with people who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression in response to specific situations, or for no clear reason at all, in order to increase functioning, happiness and satisfaction in life;

  • SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS—helping people with serious mental illness and their family members to cope and improve their quality of life;

  • TRAUMA AND CHILDHOOD ABUSE—promoting healing in people who have experienced trauma, such as childhood abuse/neglect, traumatic childhood illness, natural disaster, or other harmful or distressing life circumstances;

  • LGBTQ+ ISSUES—assisting people who are sexual or gender minorities, or who are questioning, to achieve a satisfying and meaningful life consistent with their true selves and identity.

The process I use to help you achieve your goals includes cognitive-behavioral approaches and mindfulness practices, combined with a client-centered focus and an existential philosophy. I believe that you are the master of your own life, and my job is to help you find the perspectives, behaviors, and skills that enable you to lead a satisfying life according to your own goals and values.

In today's fast-paced world it can be hard to really feel a sense of connectedness to to others and even to your own true path and self. You might feel derailed due to past situations, relationships, or difficult or traumatic experiences. I'm here to help you make the changes you need to build on your strengths and develop new skills so you can get back on track and experience the authentic connection and path you seek. I see this process as a journey we take together that involves exploration of important emotions, thoughts, experiences & behaviors, so that you can fulfill your goals on your own terms.

My background is in clinical & health psychology. I have worked in inpatient & outpatient psychiatric & medical settings. I have experience in helping clients with medical conditions, stress and anxiety, lgbtq+ related issues, & trauma/abuse, as well as depression & serious mental illness. I am PSYPACT credentialed so can see clients online in many states*.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey, and look forward to working with you.

Therapy helps you make the changes you need to build on your strengths and develop new skills so you can get back on track and experience the authentic connection and path you seek. I see this process as a journey we take together.
